I got a webcam for christmas and want to set it up outside on my porch, how can I set it up a long way away?

I read the max distance USB can go for low-speed devices is only 25ft, and about half that for high-speed..

Is there any kind of plug-in wireless usb->802.11 adapters that would work to connect it to my wireless network? (not just normal laptop usb wifi adapters)

You'll need repeaters or hubs that plug into an outlet. Pretty much keep plugging them into each other with a 20ft or so cable.
