I've had my new computer up and running for about 3 months now and I figure it's time to open it up and clean it out sense my dorm room is pretty dusty. What's the best methods to cleaning everything up, as far as the inside of the case, fans, mb, etc, thanks.

Get a can of compressed air. Its the quickest and easiest way short of taking your system apart.

I've got the compressed air, now as far as the dust that sticks is it safe to use a sweeper to get that out or even a cloth?

If you shoot some compressed air at it, nothing should stick.

Compressed air is the best remedy, i usually clean mine once a month. If you have dust/dirt that you can't get off a fan or something, remove the fan and clean it with your fingers. If you clean your pc religiously no dust will be "baked" on in the future.

Strong words of caution: watch out for static, even the smallest zap will fry your mobo.

You can also get those little vacuums that are intended for computers. I don't know if I'd want to use one on my mobo, but for fans and stuff they're fine.
