Given that the inside of the computer is covered in complete dust and dust balls, those air canisters won't cut the job here. And since the components and parts are obviously fragile, what's the best way to clean out the dust from the inside? any tips?

take the parts out. they arnt as fragiles as you may think they are. the cpu is, but the rest is just a PCB with some cool stuff sodered too it. ;)

clean the gold connection with isopopal rubbing alcohol, take everything apart. i like to take an medium-high powered air compressor to my computer at 3-4 foot range, but i havent in a long time....

Be careful of ESD when removing all components.. and make sure you know where they go when you want to put them back!

Take it outside, take the hose to it. I also like to give it a good waxing, use armoral on the pcb, wax on the shiny stuff...

Or you can put it on the roof and drive down the road in the rain, go fast, it works better...
