I'm watching "Patton" now and never fully seen it from start to finish, always starting from the middle or near the end. Tonight was the first time I'd seen and heard Patton's speech to the army at the beginning of the movie.

I've also been highly impressed repeatedly with Hartman's 'inspiration' speech at the beginning of "Full Metal Jacket".

Unfortunately, I can't think of any other war movies that impressed me as these two. I'd imagine that something pulled from "Apocalpyse Now" or another famous war movie will be mentioned. For that reason, I'm not doing this in a poll.

Just watched "Patton" a few months ago, it was the first time I had seen it in years. Still a great movie.

"Gettysburg", the Civil war movie, has quite a few speeches in it that I think are good. Here's a quick quote:

Robert E. Lee (Martin Sheen): "Things will get out of hand in a war, General Heth, that is why we have orders. You don't suppose you may have misunderstood yours?"
