I have a GEForce FX5200 right now that I got a year ago, and I tried to play the new Medal of Honor game and it completely sucked, went WAY too slow.

Anyway I have a 3.0GHz P4, 512MB Ram, my friend recommended me the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.

Any other suggestions? And will I notice a big difference?

I went from a 4200Ti to a 5600FX to a 6600GT and there's no comparision. The 6600GT is simply an amazing card... And when you consider the price, there is no better value in the video card market. I'd rather have a 6600GT than a 6800Ultra when you consider the effects on my wallet -- especially since my 6600GT plays HL2 at FULL settings with no lag.

What ever you do man, don't go with ATI *thumbs down*... I've only had problems with their cards in the past. I would definitly recommend the 6600GT though. I'm currently using a NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti4600, it's a great card... but if the 6600GT was around when I was building my computer, for THAT price... it would be a different story ;)

As is evident from the benchmarks the GeForce 6600GT AGP puts all of the previous generation graphic cards to shame. ATI opted to put the Radeon 9800 Pro up against the GeForce 6600GT AGP, but not even the Radeon 9800XT can keep up, effectively putting the 6600GT AGP well ahead of the pack. So in summary, what does the GeForce 6600GT AGP bring to the table? Quite a lot to be honest; the majority of the 6-series features, compatibility with AGP motherboards and solid performance, as is evident from the benchmarks. "To put it simply; if you are shopping for a new AGP videocard at around $200 then look no further, this is as good as it gets."

Click here to view the benchmarks for this card ;)

How come on those benchmarks, they're not pitting the 6800GT against the X800? The 9800XT is no match for the 6800GT.
