It's an older Inspiron 4000. I put Fedora Core 3 on it, but the video driver doesn't work well with the monitor. Also, I can't seem to use my USB thumb drive all the time. Sometimes it mounts and sometimes it doesn't.

i had the same problem with my pendrive and fc3.

What do you mean by the video driver not working well with your monitor? I assume you mean the lcd panel? Are you running the native resolution?

It's running at 800x600 which is the highest it will let me. It doesn't detect the LCD (says unknown monitor). I have searched on Google and seems like other people with Dell's have the same problem with the monitor.

manually select "Digital Flat Panel 800x600" and that's all you need to do.
