looking for a decent universal remote for under $150. Is logitech the only good one in this price range? If so, is there a big difference between the 550 and the 670?

I have a 550 and I love it. Easy to program and operate, and looks cool too.

The 550 is all you need unless you are needing to control more than 15 devices. Can be bought for around $80 online.

You could probably find a pretty nice basic learning remote for much less.

Don't waste your time. If you've got $150 to spend just get the Harmony.

I tried out 2 other remotes, ended up returning them both and then got the Harmony. So much wasted time...

Exactly. The ease of use on the Harmony series is well worth the extra money. I have the 880. I found it on sale for $175 around Christmas time at Sears & Best Buy. Very cool remote.

For my gaming room, I use http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/devices/375&cl=us,en as it works very well w/ my xbox 360

You know the 880 works with the 360 as well. I use my 880 with my 360 and the only thing is that I do not have actual buttons labelled xyba, but the screen shows the options.

Yes, I know that. I have two HDTV/theater setups in my house. I got the one for the 360 as a gift so I use it there. I bought the other one for my other setup which is in my movie viewing room.

Also look into universal remotes mx900 or mx850. You can find them cheap online. I have one at home (mx900) and it shits all over the harmony.

Programming is a pain in the ass if you don't know what you're doing at first, but once you get the hang of it you can have it do almost whatever you want it to.

Honestly it's the best remote out on the market ( I had a harmony before that one).
