I prefer lifting in the mornings. Not as a matter of efficiency, but it just feels more natural to me.

whenever you feel your best. lifting in the morning on an empty stomach is probably the worst thing you could do.

It's fine. Working out right after waking up is not optimal.

i do either early morning or after work. i find i have a lot more energy in the morning. i get up, take milk + banana + peanut butter + whey protein. then go to the gym. i'm more likely to fail on my desired reps going after work. there are more chicks to look at after work, but that shouldn't determine when we work out right?

College gym ftl, but 7am ftw :) I'm usually the only one in there, which is great...until i need a spot :hs: i have more energy and am more focused in the mornings.

then there's that nice, relaxed/spent feeling for the rest of the day

I wish I could workout in the evenings, but I am stuck waking up at 4:45am, take a short shower to help wake up, eat, shit and start lifting at 5:30. Definately not the best way to do it, but the only time I have:wtc: .

I lift in the morning/after noon typrically, but honestly after leaning more and more I would think lifting at night would be best since your muscles do most their repairing when you sleep :dunno: I'm not completely sure but I do know that Russian Olympic power lifters take naps after their workouts to take advantage of that fact.

fridays/sat = lifting at like 11pm when no one is at the gym except the regulars. No guidos with dragon ball z hair poking my eyes out or anything like that.

I've heard that taking in a lot of carbs right after your work out is good though....but also that carbs too close to bed time is really bad....so how is it the same to work out late at night as early morning?

strength training increases your metabolism after working out. You take in carbs with protein post workout to maximize the protein intake.
