Best Time to drink protein shakes?

    When is a good time to suck down a protein shake. Morning when I wake up, and pre and post workout?

    When I have enough money to go through a lot of it:

    1 scoop pre-workout

    2 scoops post-workout

    1 scoop before bed

    This is the best IMO. If you dont eat in the morning you might want one in the morning to replace pre-workout and just eat before the gym instead.... but I usually start my morning off with a good 40g worth of protein in food.

    I don't know what kind of whey you use, but two scoops of mine mixed with milk is more protein than a body can process in a single serving.

    I do one scoop with water pre workout and 2 scoops with milk post. :dunno:

    seems backwards to me. most say you should take it with water after your workout. Milk slows down absorbtion too much and your muscles need the protien after workout

    I think dairy is way overrated and fucks most people up.

    I'm pretty sure you're body can handle 30-40g of a fast acting protein after a strenuous depeletion session. So I'm gonna give you a big WTF here....

    For Big Gains, you should intake a Gram to gram and half per pound (Body Weight).:bigthumb:

    My av is so small you can't see it!
    If you have a good lean diet and that many shakes you'd be nearing 2 grams/lb for sure.

    How soon after your workout should you drink a protein shake? I ask cause I have a 45 minute drive to the gym...although I don't know if I'm working enough to need it though.

    Why not just bring the powder in a shaker with you? Perhaps make a shake before you drive home?

    It's not rocket surgery.....

    I drink one when i wake up for and one after lifting.

    Thats already 100g from shakes.
