I was thinking Ruger Mark II if I can find a SS one for ~$300

I am looking at revolvers too

anyone know the availability and cost of a .17 HMR they are like huge revolvers that shoot tiny rounds... I am a fan of the .22 ammo cost

I will still have my .40

If ammo cost is an issue you won't want a .17 over a .22.

A 22/45 or MKII is what you want. The MKII will give you more aftermarket grip options.

I just want something cheap and I think a .22 is the way to go

$329 online - I would get this if I could find it in my area for that price

How much is a basic Ruger Mark II? Why not get one and then throw on one of the 8.5 inch target barrels from tactical solutions. The review I read about them the guy was able to get 1/4" groups at 50 yards using a scope and benchrest. I plan on getting one for my 22/45 once I have the money (and get the thing unjammed... grrr... )

have you looked at the beretta u22 neos?

i have one and it's a pretty nice gun.. MUCH MUCH MUCH easier to clean and take care of than my mk2, have a full-length scope rail if you want to get that much more accurate.

I know the mark II is the pretty much the holy grail of .22 pistols, but i have a S&W that i'm very happy with. Its never jammed on me and is a great target/plinking gun. Also very affordable and comes with a scope rail.

I wonder if there is any place u can get the trigger housing, etc. cheap... b/c the Tactical Solution barrel is both the barrel and reciever and needs to go through an FFL. Wonder if u can find the lower stuff seperately.

interesting... i would have figured it would carry enough energy out that far, but i guess not.

how did you manage to hit it in the head at 125 yards?? i'm usually shooting like 6+ inch groups at 100 yards
