    I have a Canon A590 IS

But as you can see, it's too bulky. I want something slimmer. I'm not a mega pixel whore so even a 7.2 MP camera would be fine. I just want the best slim one under $200.

Have an SD1100 IS and love it. Bought it based on hundreds of positive reviews and it doesn't seem like you can go wrong.

I've had a Canon SD750 for a couple years. Not sure if you can buy them new, but I love it. Sits in my gf's purse full time and has taken 1000's of shots no problems. Love the big screen and compact size.

Go look around and haggle for display models.

I got a Nikon S6 for $130 but that was because I worked on the store. :mamoru:

are Nikon P&S good cameras? The name "coolpix" alone makes me avoid them

looking for something small and cheap too. dont take out my camera a lot when sight seeing in other countries because i generally end up getting wasted and drunk + slr is not a good combo.. so i never get any pictures of where I've been :(

I dropped my Coolpix 2100 from the same distance but onto carpet, but fortunately nothing happened.

Oh and for that poster asking for the Coolpix series. They are pretty awesome, although slow.

I have a Coolpix S50. A touch slow, but you get great pictures. I still would rather go for an SD870IS though. :hs:
