My blazer just isn't what I need anymore, so it's time for a truck.
But not a full size cuz I drive to much to have a daily driven V8.

So our requirements are: V6, extended cab, reliable, value and enough room for my r6.

    thanks in advance.

Either that or get a full size with a v6...you can get the 4.3 in a Silverado...

Sixes are fine in fullsized trucks.

Trouble is, they usually aren't any better on gas than the small V8s offered in the same trucks.

I know, i owned a 6cyl f-150 (I6 though). It makes no sense at all to buy one. Real world fuel economy is damned near as bad as a v8, but you miss out on the fun/utility of the v8. Also, resale is horriffic.

full size truck are are available with a v6 from every maker, but the V8 is generally only a $700 or so option... and the resale value on a 6 cylnder full size truck is shit...

I've had my 96 Tacoma for 7 years and 95,000 miles now. Damn thing won't die. Paint is still perfect, mechanically perfect, interior 90%, and I drive the high holy fuck out of it. 2.4L 4-cyl with a good kick to it.

Uhh yeah never liked the guy much myself either...cocky bastard....his son is exactly the same...He bought his son a white/white Ty for his 16th bday....fucking kid is 18/19 now rags the hell out of that truck. Doesnt go through the proper shut down procedure....launches with like 1/4 tank of gas left...just dumb overall....

as far as used, an IFS 4wd ranger 4.0 would work well, i think.

if you ever want to lift/mod it, the pre-98 rangers are i-beam.

    new, get the chebby

Yup and my buddy (who isnt golden gloves) beat his sons ass for not paying up on a $1000 drag racing bet. He though his Ty could take an 9 second mustang, "cause you have no traction".

yeah, the new chevy/gmc's look good but I'm not sure if I want to wait till Fall

I did have a 94 Tacoma back in highschool that I liked, the interior was just so blah though.
