The unit is really small and the reviews were pretty promising. I was looking into getting one to correct an interference problem I had, but that was fixed.

Anyhow you can't go wrong with this, it's small, portable and uses USB. Very good sound output for a laptop. Only drag is you have to lug around some nice headphones to take advantage of it or some speakers.

    thanks for the replies,

is there 'another' external one out there.

    that rivals this?

    also,
how good is this etc etc?

I've seen a few USB solutions. I nearly settled on the Extigy when my research found the CAVIT series from Yamaha. As a not-so-technical person I really don't know one from the other based on their techno jargon, but because CAVIT has quite a few models and price range and feature sets, you just know it's alot better than the entry level Extigy.

They're abit more pricey but if you want something of high quality, it may be worth it.
