    Hi,

    I have some videos in various formats and I want to pause the screen and take a copy of that 'picture' so that I can edit it in Photoshop.

    Can anyone reccomend the best free software for doing it? I have Adobe Premiere Pro but have'nt found out of that is able do it.

    Many thanks for your help on this.

    Can't you just pause it and take a screenshot?

    In Windows Media Player.
    Tools->Options->Performance
    Video Acceleration set it to None.....later you can set it back to Full
    Play the video and pause where needed.
    Hit PrintScreen.
    Paste into Photoshop
    Have fun editting
