I seem to lose alot of speed from my current Netgear router. If I connect by ethernet cable and did a speed test, I get about 5.9 Mbps. But if I use my wireless from the Netgear, I only get about 1.4 Mbps. I'm thinking of buying a new router, any recommends? Also what router would be best for torrents/portforwarding?

It's probably not a problem with the router. How fast is it if you plug in via the router (assuming you can)? How is the signal strength on the wireless?

I have not tried connect the ethernet to the router but I think something's not working right with this router. I can't dl torrent because I would lose intenret connection after 5 mins of running Azureus. My signal strength is always high throughout the house, 5 out of 5 bars.

I get about 3.0 Mbps if I connect to the router via ethernet. So it's not normal for a router to rob speed right?
