Bleh, a lot of really overated "artists" up on that list.

Big Punisher I would say was, and still is the best all-time.
But from that list I would say Nas, Mos Def, and Jay-Z make my top 3.

And, for you people who don't like rap, why do you come to a rap thread?:wtf:

  9. It's Mos (and Talib) all the way for me.

I have all of Eminem's, Nas's, and all of rawkus's cd's, and in my opinion when Eminem and Nas are on point, its hard to stop either one. They both have better producers than Mos or Talib. Talib's lyrics are top notch but his voice is his weakness. Mos def is great but not consistant in terms of his dedication to music. B.O.B.S. was stellar, but what was that, 1998? Em's verses lately have been gettin better and better, and same with Nas, he has a couple verses off the bravehearts cd that are straight up fire

I picked 2Pac cause of just how he really embodied hip-hop but lyrically i have to give it to Canibus. If you doubt it just listen to rip the jacker.

Yeah, I forgot to add, KRS-One, Common, Rakim and Talib. And I didn't put the Beastie Boys in the poll, since they're a group, and this is just about solo rap artists. If I put the Beastie Boys in, then I'd have to put in N.W.A., Wu-Tang, etc. etc.

I could listen to any Nas album without skips but Mos Def can bring it like nobody's business. And what's more, he actually doesn't talk about guns or drugs in his raps.
