Is there even more than one offered? I almost bought one last year, but decided to hold off. Kinda want one now.

I think the ms wheel is regarded as the best. i bought one when forza 2 came out on a smokin deal ( like 75 bucks ) but now it sits in my closet.

Honestly i wanted the whole racing chair / g25 setup but then realized i will never play another racing game as much as me and my buds did back when we had gran tourismo 3 on ps2.

the fanatec is supposed to be good (i dont have experience with it though). It is expensive, but has clutch + six speed and works for xbox (although it says the games have to support the feature, i think Forza 3 will)

    prices 329-479 for now.

The microsoft isnt that good, but its better than nothing. :hsd:

Jesus christ I didn't think the wheel would cost more than 2 fucking consoles. :eek4:

If I wanted to drop that much cash I would buy a seat and a wheel.

i had the MS Racing Wheel for Forza 2 and PGR4.
on the PS3, i have the logitech g25 or whatever it's called.

both were very good, but different...

the MS wheel was more "arcade" in that it had a plasticky feel, no pedal feedback, and was kind of small in diameter.

the logitech was the opposite - leather, tons of feedback all around, real-size. more of a "simulation" type thing.

    both were fun.

so I'm a cheap fuck and a 360 fag, is it even worth it to buy the MS wheel for Forza 3? I play the shit out of Forza 2 with the controller and don't have any real complaints, am I missing anything that the apparently inferior MS wheel can provide?

It is bearable but definitely not like the DFP, but it is the only thing you have, unless you want that Porsche wheel.

Playing racing games with a wheel>*

want the Porsche wheel, cannot afford  seriously, playing a decent racing game with a clutch and a gated 6-speed, I'm worried I wouldn't leave the house for a while.

I may try the MS wheel when F3 comes out. although I'm wondering how many plastic video game peripherals I can keep around the house before my wife speaks up.

    no, sorry....i meant

the 360 has virtually no resistance to the pedals. you step on them and they go down.

    the G25 has:
    -a relatively loose throttle
-a pretty hard-to-push brake (feels like you're actually breaking)
-a medium-feel clutch (not used on console)

So something in the midrange? Better than the MS wheel, but not as much as that fucking porsche wheel that costs 500 bucks that I have to preorder and wait for them to make in fucking November for? What would that be?

Nothing. As much a 360 fanboy as I am, nothing pisses me off more than MS's setup for 360 accessories.

That's what I'm thinking. Just making sure there isn't something else I should be looking for before I pull the trigger. I don't mind spending some monies, but not 500 (plus conversion and shipping) then waiting 2-4 months for it. Fuck that.

there are only two wheels for the 360 that have FF

the ms wheel and the fanatec

if you don't want the fanatec i would possibly wait to see if MS releases an updated wheel that doesn't catch on fire otherwise you only have on option
