    Folding knife, any thoughts?

  2. You're going to get a bunch of different answers here. I love my SOG Trident. I think I paid like $60 for it online.

Is this for general use or do you work construction or another job that constantly requires and abuses a knife?
What kind of attire are you wearing this with?
How often are you willing to sharpen or clean the knife?
Clip on pocket or just thrown in with the keys?

Different knives for differnt uses. I have a couple that I wear when I am doing office work (smaller, non offensive in a pocket, usually a darker color, often with some design to it). I have others for wearing jeans around town, others for doing construction or automotive work, and others for other tasks.

Benchmade 940 Osborne is AWESOME. Got one for my brother when I got a Benchmade 520 Presidio for myself.. I kinda wish I'd gotten a 940/960 instead. The 940/960 opens LIGHTNING fast.

For less than $100.. the Spyderco Delica/Endura Wave are both pretty awesome. Instant open out of pocket with the wave.

The Endura is so large that it's awkward to open/close one-handed, but the pocket opener is pretty freaking sweet, and the wave doubles as a bottle opener :big grin:. I don't know if the Delica is less difficult to open one-handed, but it is a little bit smaller, so probably.

Benchmade 550HG Griptilian is pretty sweet.. cheaper like the Spyderco, but awesomeness of the Axis lock

    I like all of em.

I have a CRKT M16-14ZSF. Got it for $35-$40 ish about 3 years ago, been carrying it more or less daily since.
Not a world-beater, but it works for me, though it is a bit on the large side. Pretty quick-opening, using the "flipper" studs, and CLPing the hinge once every few months.
Edge retention is okay, I think, and it's not real tough to sharpen. the Auto-LAWKS takes a little getting used to though.

All in all, I like it, and I think it was well worth the relatively minor investment.
