What would be the best place to purchase a domain name and a web host server?

I signed up for a domain name with a fictitious business name and get 3-4 cc offers in the mail per week with that fictitious name on it. There is no other place the business name has ever been entered. Maybe not a lot, but there certainly is some.

You realize when you get a fictitious business name it's public record right? There are tons asshats that scan new fictitious registrations and add them to their list. Nothing to do with godaddy ;).

I just bought a domain at godaddy. For like $9 extra a year I got anonymous registration. I probably could've just done it through domainsbyproxy.com but whatever.

I went with hostgator for hosting. My website is small tho so I didn't need some baller package.
