with a rebel ( 1.6x cf ) what other lens competes with this lens at it's price/zoom range?

is that 28-105usm deal worth it at a hundred less?

    thanks.

theres a shitma 28-70 2.8 a canon 17-85 IS and 28-135 IS among others. theres a lot of lenses in this range, the tamron gets the top notch for quality vs price

I get a chuckle when I see people upgrading from the kit lens to the 28-135 IS and stating how amazing it is. It's not bad but there's better for the money.

I bought my Tamron 28-75 at 17photo.com after returning the Sigma 24-70 which was extremely stiff and soft.
