Epson RX500. They have other variants, as well. Epson printers own everything else in the budget price bracket. Get something with seperate ink tanks, and a full CMYK support. The RX500 has 6 tanks.

I have the canon i860, for the price its pretty awesome.

These days photo printers vary in price due to the speed in printing and not so much the quality. You'll find yourself happy with a Canon, HP or Epson, i recommend Canon though.

canon is one of the WORST, in my book. HP is not very impressive, and tops the charts as some of the most expensive.

You will not beat an epson in quality for the price.

  5. :werd: I'm happy with the quality of my i960. Also has 6 seperate ink tanks for CMYK printing.

I have an Epson Stylus Photo R200 ($99) and it's VERY good. By far the best I have ever owned, plus it prints on blank CD and DVD discs. Uses 6 ink tanks - CcMmYk - and makes my crappy photos come out 100% realistic.

I had tried a Canon prior to it - another $99 one - and it was like drawing with crayons by comparison.

To each their own i guess, 2 techs here SWEAR by Epson printers and I by Canon, never had a problem with them and the quality is amazing.

Canon has the best quality ink jet pictures output, bar none. And their printers last the longest. Plus their OEM ink is the cheapest, abeit only by a few nickles.

Epson's are cheap. All 7 of my epsons have had their ink heads get clogged after a year of usage with their own ink.

HP's are good, but a bit pricey.

My latest canon is an i960 and I love it. Quiet, fast, and beautiful pictures, 10x sharper, brighter, than any epson can achieve.

I vote for HP... I have a HP 7660 and I can't be happier with it.

But for printing my photos, my Sony DP-EX50 sub dye printer is awesome. I have also use the Olympus sub dye and they are both great.

Walmart, they print great pics for 19 cents each...4 X 6 size. I have a photo printer that is just as good, but if I have a lot to print I take them to walmart.
