i love the idea of ranking fighters by p4p
No science behind it..only opinion based judgements.
bj penn only because i like him the most, not because i consider him p4p, or anyone for that matter
I think hes the most complete well rounded fighter out there.
couldnt disagree more. He has phenominal bjj and takedown defense. His striking is troublesome and his wrestling is nothing to write home about. If that's your definition of best p4p then I have to say GSP and Fedor are > .
I think it was Trigg who said that Fedor is a black belt at nothing but a brown belt in every aspect of the fight game.
and GSP is pretty much elite at every aspect
P4P never made sense to me.
I just see it as..whoever is the most wellrounded fighter skill wise taking the body weight element out of the mix.
But how do you even compare? That is what has never made sense to me.
it's how i get laid
LOL @ rampage and machida being on that list
mere judgement...just like you judge what girl in the bar would be better in bed
BJ Penn - Could possibly beat GSP, but only while firing on all cylinders and in great shape WINNAR
Fedor Emelianenko - Hard to judge a heavy when thinking P4P
Anderson Silva - I think Rampage would GnP him to death
Lyoto Machida - Fedor would kill him
Rampage Jackson - Fedor would kill him
GSP - Anderson would probably pick him apart... 2nd place
Rampage is amazing...after knocking out Chuck Liddel and out grappling Dan Henderson..its safe to say hes easily the #1 LHW in the world and a very well rounded smart fighter.
Machida is underfeated and has a decent resume and is only getting better. Maybe he needs more tougher fights befroe he gets judged with the greats but his unique style and crazy fan base is why i put him on the list
A fat BJ Penn gave Machida a hard time.
GSP's weakness is his boxing.
Rampage is riding high after two wins over solid opponents. When discussing P4P you have to look at a fighters entire career. Rampage has been uneven at best and will lose the belt by the years end.
Machida is awesome and has the tools to be on that list but doesn't have the resume just quite yet. At least two more wins over top 10 opponents and I'd put him on that list.
Rampage was young when he lost and fought in a league where performance enhancers were not tested for. Ever since he stepped foot in the UFC hes been no less than an MMA god.
I honeslty believe hes the most underated champs in recent history..i will be damned if someone takes his belt away. Although Forrest has the fire in his eyes, it won be enough. I just pray he gets another shot at Wandy to better clear his name.
No less than an MMA god?
I love rampage, he's funny and has an enjoyable fighting style, but come on.
He looked okay against Eastman and finished him quite convincingly.
His win against Liddell was awesome, but was more or less a one punch fight. He won that fight by having the psychological edge on Liddell as much as anything. Very little was shown by either fighter in that fight.
His fight against henderson he barely won. Lots of people had it scored 48-47 for hendo. I saw it 48-47 rampage, it was a good fight, but it wasn't a 'holy shit did he just do that?' kind of fight.
All the other fighters on the list (except machida) make you go 'holy shit'.
Yeah i wasn't disagreeing, you just put it very eloquently.
Can somebody point me in the direction of Rampage's great standup, because I feel I am missing something in all my criticism of him.
Well just have to wait it out...Rampage is not going anywhere
I see no Nurifumi "Kid" Yamamoto or JZ on that list.
