A&P Best P&S w/ HD video?

    1080p is preferred. Photo quality doesn't have to be the best. Just needs to be able to do both well.

    Looks like most P&S are 720p. Why can't the S90 come with video dammit.

    what's the 1080p resolution?

    heres the leica d-lux 4 stats for video

    Video Recording: 16:9 format HD 1280 x 720 (24 fps), 848 x 480 (30 fps); 4:3 format 640 x 480 (30 fps), 320 x 240 (30 fps, 10 fps)

    Or Nikon P100. Seems to be pretty awesome. Backside illuminated CMOS is nice

    1280 x 720 is 720p. 1080p is 1920 x 1080. Damn, the Leica looks so damn baller.

    Yeah but at least you can actually zoom video while youre shooting it instead of some BS digital only crap.

    The video from the S90 and G11 is very good. Even though it's not HD, it's very high bitrate for a P&S.

    yeah, it's good quality, just disappointing that a camera like that wouldn't have HD :hs:

    its gotta be something in teh technology. low noise, high IQ, must take away from being able to give strong HD video.

    I love my s90's video....good enough for me.

    if you want HD...get a real HD camcorder.... :-/

    It's not for me. My in-laws want a do it all camera for vacations. They saw some commercial for a Panny GH1 and asked me if they should buy that. They are not photographers and just want something that does both for vacations. I'll have to talk to them about their options now that I'm more learned. Thanks guys!
