    dell dj will be cheaper

i have an ipod and take it almost everywhere i go...if i had the decision to do over again, i'd still get an ipod...i've got friends with iriver's, and a few others and i wasn't too crazy about them when playing around with them

through apple.com, you can get an education discount also

Overall the Dell DJ is the best. Bang for the buck or Best period.

The only things the Ipod has are looks (Subjective) or market share.

whats the sound quality like on a mp3 player vs. a regular oldass CD player?

it depends on the quality of the music you download to put on your player. or the quality at which you rip your cd's onto the mp3 player. highest quality being the equivalent of a cd's quality.

so the sound can be as HQ as a cd so long as you sacrifice some storage space?
