I've finally merged (or will be) merging my two computers (old & new) which means I'll have about 40 gigs of badly organized music files.

Is there any reallly good (better yet free) program for catalogging, naming and organising MP3's??

Also, whats the best virus program out there---someone told me AVG Free -- which i did download and as its scanning now it picked up two viruses norton didnt.

    Thanks!

And while we're at it -- something good to block viruses & spy ware?

I have ad-aware to get rid of existing stuff. and use Avant Browser as a pop up blocker -- but I'm obviuosly getting viruses through, so far now its found 7 total

    AVG is awsome.

Spybot S&D and Adaware for the spyware protection.

If you use Firefox and both of those you'll be pretty well protected.

i just got the Macaffee 2005 package... its pretty nice. it has anti-virus, spamblock, ad destroy and a firewall... together they work pretty good

and for mp3 organizing i use Tag Rename i think its called, its pretty good and not a bad price

MusicBrainz is what I use for music retagging and sorting, and it works perfectly.
