    ^^^ :mepoke:

Chip - Upsolute for price and power. If you're concerned w/ the dealer detecting a chip and voiding warrenty, look into APR or Revo.

Exhaust - Remove your muffler. That'll be plenty for now. If you want to waste some money, a 2.5inch catback will lighten your wallet. Techtonics makes a nice one.

If you really want to start getting nuts, injectors, and a larger turbo would be your next best things to upgrade.

Maybe it was for the torque?

In which case, chip/map it and get even more torque.

Chips will actually increase fuel efficiency.

...It just doesn't seem like it, but that's b/c you're flooring it more often.

I definately plan on chipping it, as it gives both power and MPG gains.

I heard from the vxvortex boards that there is a chip that'll boost my power up to ~170/265 from the stock 100/177... anyone heard whether this is true or not? Most chips I've looked at give around 30+ HP and 25-40lbs torque.

And just remove The muffler? I know it's a diesel, it won't sound too obnoxious would it? I don't want it sounding like a fart cannon or anything. :mamoru:

    Sooo...
    - Chip for HP/TQ+, more fuel economy
    - Remove/Mod Exhaust for added turbo response, few extra low end HP...

Does this car respond well to intake? I guess anything beyond the above is going to have to be a bigger turbo setup.

So what's the benefits of injectors? More regulated/fuel is shot into the cylinders for added power?

Removing the muffler on a TDI won't make it sound loud and obnoxious like you'd expect from a gasoline engine. It'll be barely louder.

Never heard of this magical +70hp chip. Any idea on who makes it?

And like most other vw's, an intake won't do much. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

And bigger injectors = more fuel, which is essential if you want to make more power.

you can do alot, bigger turbo, new head and cams FMIC. and your only void the warrenty if you can prove that it was the chip that cosed the problem

I've got an '03 TDI. Done chip & injectors to it and it's sitting at ~255torque. I could keep going but at this point the 225s up front are barely sticking.

Here are your options (some of which I'm sure you know of)

    - Chip (depends on your turbo)
    - Injectors (a bunch of options, not sure about the '06 TDI)
    - VNT19 turbo
    - FMIC
    - Fuel sump, and a bunch of other small tidbits

Just be aware that any mods you do on a diesel will buy torque and not really much horsepower. Oh, and you're driving a FWD car...

Check www.tdiclub.com - great place for TDI info.

You might want to look at a new clutch set up as well if you are going to go nuts with the diesel mods or at least be aware that you will need one in the near future. (I do not know how strong the mk5 clutch set ups are)

Diesels don't need high horsepower. Torque + high ratio gearing = more speed.
