I'm going to the store shortly to look for a healthier version of regular 1% milk. I'm cutting and obviously it's not the healthiest thing - but it's like a staple for me because I love it.

I've heard mention of these carb countdowns etc, but I've never seen them at the store. So I'm guessing I'll look for a fat-free milk. But my question is, will this fat free milk be full of high GI carbs?

Don't worry about high GI carbs. If you're cutting, fat-free milk is fine.

I don't move all day except for when I work out --> and I drink >1L a day, so I'd prefer not to have tons of high GI carbs

That whole high/low GI carb thing is really not worth bothering with, imo. You're rarely ever eating just one food by itself, and when you mix foods the GI changes anyways.

I can see that you might be drinking milk on its own though. In which case, if you're cutting, just give it up as a drink and only use it with other food.

I use it for my shakes. It's an MRP and I love the taste in milk so I just need a healthier alternative that tastes similar and I'm sure I won't notice the difference :)

Fatter milk doesn't boost insulin as much as low-fat milk. Low-fat milk has also been proven to taste like shit.

Just try to drink most of your milk after your workout if your not willing to give it up.

What am I gonna do when I start cutting? ... 4 liters of milk a day... :o

I don't drink whey in water... therefore I'll have to find something else. I think I'll drink 2 liters of milk a day with... 3 or 4 scoops of whey... and maybe buy some whey that mixes well with water...

Just back from the store. No Hood products in site.

Decided to try out some Beatrice Skim Milk - 13g carbs, 9g protein.

Should be better than the 1% milk at least
