    whats your budget? That matters.

Frontier in most price ranges. Sonoma/S10 in the cheaper brackets.

last time i checked, a tahoe is not a midsized truck, its a fullsize suv.

"Good towing" and "midsize truck" are a tough combo. I own a 1998 Tacoma and although it's been pretty durable, it does not like to tow big loads even with a tranny cooler.

The newer midsize trucks like the Frontier and the Tacoma do much better with towing than the trucks they replaced, but a fullsize still shames them.

The S10 is a terrible tow rig. If you're able to spend $15k on a truck, get a used fullsize Chev, 99+ with the 5.3L

well if the 2007 Tundra is any indication, the 2008 is not going to be very good. Lots and lots and lots of reviews are tearing the Tundra apart. Toyota made big claims with their rig, and it's already not living up to them.

Yes, and everything you post. Doesn't matter what the person wants, you tell them to get a jeep.

Well, sorry, but 99% of jeep owners are posers, and I see nothing that indicates you are any better.

2009 Tundra... maybe. In theory they should have the issues worked out by then.

I forsee engine building being sent back to Japan.

given the direction the company is going, I imagine toyota will be worse than they are today.

    Unless they change, that is.

Historically, it takes a lot to may people and companies change. Historically, it will take what GM is going through for Toyota to wise-up.

    Time will tell.

Midsize truck...Frontier, hands down winner. But under $15k?? Not gonna happen new, that's for sure. Might find a decent used one though.

Id say go with a Nissan if you want a fairly new truck, otherwise i'd say get a previous generation Dakota. They are pretty cheap these days, and their V8s are pretty damn reliable. They look better than most other trucks too.
