I don't get how the insurance works on these. What if i rent a lens and it gets stolen? Or falls down and snaps in half? So the $10 insurance is going to cover right?

The other day i went to my local store and was trying to rent 28-300L for the weekend. It only costs $30 to rent, but you have to pay full retail CASH deposit for the lens. I was like :iough:

So if it gets stolen, broken, damaged...they keep my cash and I keep the lens.

not always, some sites have you pay a percentage (some huge) of the repair bill. read carefully.
