I want a new IWB holster for my 229R but i can't decide which material to get. It's pretty much between a nice leather holster and the Comptac CTAC kydex holster. Does anyone have any experience with the Comptac? I really like how slim and sturdy it is, but i dunno if a stiff holster poking into my hip would be best although i don't know if that's the case.

Which material is better with holster wear? I also want the holster to be very comfortable and sturdy. thanks!

Order a CompTac and put a leather one on order. Almost all leather makers are backed way up.

Kydex for the fucking win.... Down here it gets hot, I sweat and my leather gets moist and doesn't dry out all day, not comfortable at all to me.

Definetly check out some nice leather. Also put a call in to Lightning Arms, they are a stocking dealer for Milt Sparks, Alessi, and a few others. I do have Kydex, but for all day comfort I much prefer leather.

I dont think you can go wrong trying out the CTAC. I love mine.

First, there's virtually no waiting time to get one. Second, they are only $75.

Even if you don't like it, you can probably sell it pretty quick and then start waiting for some custom leather...18 weeks...20 weeks...over a year (for Del Fatti).

I had it to where Topgunsupply would send me an email when they got the vm2's back in stock. I couldn't do anything right away since I was at work but when I got home 5 hours later they were out once again.:wtc:

Wow, that's like a high-quality kick in the nuts right there...

I've heard good things about the sharkskin on those type holsters but I don't carry all day so I typically use my $70 Galco paddle.

Of all the holster talk I've heard a bunch of different holster opinions and Galco and Bianchi have never come up. Why? Different level of holster-dom than these others?? I mean they're way better than a Kydex...

I've had a Highnoon tailgunner on order since April 17th and I still haven't been billed for it. I'm probably going to pick up a comptac if it's not here by the time my permit is.
