I wanna go p4 2.8 or higher (800fsb). Last 2 comps have had Asus boards, but I've been an AMD user. Stick with asus? Whats the good mobo right now...I've lost touch with whats out these days :hs:

popular combo is the ABIT IC7 + the 2.4c

It's cheap, fast, and you can OC the crap out of the chip with very little cooling.

    2.8C + IC7 Max3
AI7 and IS7 are cool too.

What is the difference between the IC7, AI7, and IS7? All 3 look nearly the same.

    IC7 Max3 = $$$$$ BEST ABIT mobo for P4. i875. Has everything.
IS7-G = Nice inexpensive card w/ all the goodies. Only 2.8v vDIMM i865. Gigabite LAN
AI7 = Nice inexpensive. Good for overclocking too. 3.2v vDIMM. No Gigabite LAN.

AI7 is good budget card for OC'ing. I hear the AI7-G is coming out soon.

Could someone explain what the letters mean by the P4s? like the "2.8c"

I should have kept up better with tech in the past 2 years since I built my current comp =[

Money's not really an issue with me this time around...so the IC7 looks great. Any ASUS suggestions? I've NEVER had a problem with them and would like to buy another, assuming they compete with ABIT

For Asus the comparable board is probably the P4C800-E Deluxe

I like it a lot, mine board isn't the E version so I have the 3 Com gigabit card in it instead of the Intel card with CSA.

I'd go with either an Abit or Asus either board will be great, i'm partial to Asus though as they're the only boards i usually use.
