do you want an ultra-portable 2.5" drive, or a standard high-capacity (and typically faster) 3.5" drive?
In either case, build it yourself.
3.5" Kingwin Aluminum IEEE-1394/USB2.0 enclosure
Seagate 7200RPM PATA HDD (whatever capacity floats your boat)
2.5" Vantec Aluminum USB2.0 enclosure
Toshiba Notebook PATA 16MB Cache HDD (whatever capacity floats your boat)
Vantec 3.5" enclosure FTW. I use one with a Samsung Spinpoint with my Powerbook. It also has e.SATA so I can connect it to my desktop at the same time.
Firewire for the win.
Is there an affordable Firewire 800 enclosure?
i personally like that lacie drive that was designed by porsche, it looks pretty
I have a western digital and hasn't given me any problems... I'm picking up another soon to stack on top of it soon.
Maxtor 250gb FW
3rd one to recommend a Vantec enclosure. I have two right now and I've had zero complaints.
Just get a regular internal drive for a good price and slap it in a Vantec enclosure.
