Hey, I've got a bunch of IDE drives left over after I moved to the Mac Pro. I do have experience using external enclosures, but in my experience they all seem to be really shoddy and have less-than-stellar performance and availability.

So I'm wondering if anyone here has had good experience with a quality external enclosure for an IDE disk with USB 2 and/or Firewire interface to the computer that they'd like to recommend...

    Thanks!

I love my Vantec NexStar 3's. They are stackable, decent transfer rate, and they even shut the drives down when idle  . Only downside is the price, they are pretty pricey. Although still cheaper than quite a few.

I have an old FW interface one that I'm no longer going to need. It uses the IDE interface and it's a no-name one.

    $15 if you want it.
