After searching through the threads it seems as if there are many choices for ripping and burning dvds. The 2 most common methods were

    1. Mac the Ripper and then burn w/ Popcorn

    or

    2. DVD2one

What do you guys do. I want to make it easy as possible, but would like to be able to also save and be able to watch the video that I ripped at anytime, in addition to burn it to disc. Is this possible? If so how?

so i ripped the dvd using mac the ripper but when i go to burn it in toast 8 it says there is not enough space. I thought that toast will compress it to 4.7gb to fit on a dvd? Is there a setting that I am overlooking?

Toast is good for those things... Even though you can burn data discs with built-in Mac OS X facilities, I think Toast does a better job (fewer errors, fewer coasters, etc).

I rip w/ MTR then compress and burn w/ Popcorn. Popcorn will also output to PSP and ipod.
