I'm a college student and my budget for a DSLR will be under 1.5k. I want something that I can use to develop my skills and do various photo shoots for people that I know that I can start with, for building up my portfolio.

I want to pursue in starting up a photography business as my side job.

I've researched on Canon and Nikon and also on the new Sony Alpha. I believe that image clarity and the variety of lenses will be my main desire.

Hopefully, people with their experience here can help me in choosing the right model for my situation.

or that. possibly the sigma 70-200 f/2.8 instead of the f/4. one of our above would be my choice.

I just did a quick research on tamron 28-75 f/2.8 that sounds like a winner. Now I'm tempted to buy it. :wiggle:
