the getting to know the macshack thread got me thinking about desks. i'm looking to get a new one and have no idea where to start. i currently have a sauder particle board POS that's probably 15 years old. looking for something that conserves space (small bedroom) and is around $100...any ideas?

post some pics of your setup or desk ideas

word, but ikea is pretty expensive. if you are on a budget, that's usually not the best choice.

I've been impressed with the prices... :squint: they offer such prices because of the shitty materials used.

Ikea is really cheap, my sister got a desk and a full wall of shelves for her room for a pretty reasonable price, and I got a pretty big wood loveseat with cushions for like 140.

It's known for being cheap, because you put everything together yourself.

They do have an online store, but idk how much of it ships out. Besides, you're in Michigan. The largest Ikea store in the world is Michigan. I'm Outside of Detroit, and it was like an hour and a half drive.

Its worth it, maybe get some friends to come who need some stuff too? They also have a lot of good deals on other stuff, we got a lot of little stuff, trash cans, some cups for pens, cheap pillows etc.

Yeah, its a pretty good deal. looking back on it, I wish I had done that. Right now, I've got a door ontop of two fileing cabinets, its awesome but the cabinet drawers are way too big so I just kind of shove shit in there :o.
