My friend is looking to spend 300-400 on a nice deck. Whats the best i can get in this price range? She told me she wanted a Sony Xplod. I told her you can do alot better than Sony.

the alpine is a great deck, but i've found in my sales experience that women prefer something "flashy." Yes, she can do much better than a sony. Look at some Premier or Excelon radios, great features on both, and good sound quality, too. She might even consider a Panasonic. They aren't that bad, and I've seen women like them. I just don't think the Alpine would be a "woman satisfying" radio.
