So far my opinion would have to be with 300. It stuck to the story and maintained the stylistic edge of the comic.

I haven't seen from Hell but I'm guessing it must be good if Alan Moore didn't raise a big ruckus about it.

Just by the preview you can tell that changed the Wanted story. I doubt there will be a villain made out of Poo in the movie.

Toss up between 300 and Sin City, but they were essentially recreated panel by panel.

I'd say Spider-Man since they took the basic mythos of spidey and made it current.

if spider-man gets mentioned, then by default Batman Begins wins this thread.

I had typed Batman Begins, but erased it. The sour taste from watching the abortion that is Batman and Robin today is lingering.

I'm gonna have to go with Tim Burton's Batman Returns. Michelle Pfeiffer gave a flawless performance as Catwoman and as a kid watching this in the theaters, it's when I first was like "Woah, Batman is sweet!" Of course kids didn't use the word "sweet" like that back then, but you get the idea. Danny DeVito's Penguin was extremely disgusting and a rather gritty realistic portrayal that made him an interesting character (which I don't think he was in the source material; from what I could tell from the Animated Series who was somewhat of a clean character unlike DeVito's portrayal which was very vile). Oh yeah, soon after this movie was released I got wrapped up in the awesome '90s animated series which was equally as kick-ass as Batman Returns. I remember watching it everyday after school. The series was really dark for the most part. I think the movie and series both had a very big influence on my future tastes in various forms of media.

I would say 300 by a longshot. Being a huge Spiderman fan myself I have enjoyed the trilogy but I can't get past Toby "freaking" MacGuire as peter Parker. Then they topped that by making the skinny kid from That 70's Show Venom.

odd how the most recent films receive the most credit. it's almost as if they're given more credit for being more recent.

that's because the only GOOD comic book movies came out in the last 8 years...

i'll catch flak for that statement, but it's probably because of spider-man and x-men that half of us are even here.

and i'll get more shit for THAT statement. :o

so sure....there has been comic book movies before, good ones, like batman and the crow, but it's the last 10 years or so where we get those indie-comic gems like sin city and graphic novel adepts like history of violence.

    well, for me anyway

yeah sin city was fucking prefect. Im kinda biased though cuz i didnt like 300. Its not even that i didnt enjoy the adaptation i just didnt like the story and found the movie boring and had an overly predictable story. Overall depressing

Edit: i know im gonna get mega shit for hating on 300
