Same brand as your other speakers?

hm, I was thinking that as well, I have Paradigms so the paradigm central imediately interests me. (and the specs look quite nice as well)

assuming a different scenario would mixing it up hurt the sound very much?

I believe you always want to try to match your speakers in a home theatre setup. If you have paradigm fronts, then you should try to get a paradigm center.

makes sense. Lots of stuff takes place in the 'center' of the screen :)

I'd definitely recommend a matching Paradigm center. The furthest I think I would stray would be a different model line made by Paradigm. I.e. upgrade to a higher model line Paradigm center, which allows a future upgrade of your front speakers. Or, I guess you could pick any other center channel you like with the intention of upgrading your fronts to that same brand in the future.

I think the CC-470 would probably be a better match than the 570 from what Ive read of others experiences. Are you unhappy with your studio 20's?

get the pardigm for teh timbre matching...

when I do 5chan i'm going to grab the soliloquy center to go with my 6.5 fronts and 5.0 surrounds... I won't need a sub since i got 20hz taken care of.

mixing is a pita, you don't want to have to bring an eq into the mix.

I like the Thiel and Snell centers that are just a tad over 1k, but you'd want the rest of the setup too.
