best benchmark program to download?

    just purchased a new pc, wanna see how good it really is, i know what its got under the hood, i know its got some power to it, but would love to see how it does in a benchmark prog...

    will post up specs also if wanted :wavey:

    3DMark is one my friends use.

    made 14500 or so 3dmarks, its apparently above average for the system im running...

    3Dmark is mostly for benchmarking gaming performance, in general I know SiSoft Sandra was really good back in the day, don't know if they have continued to update it though

    3DMark is good for benchmarking a machine's gaming capabilities, PCMark is better for benchmarking a machine's overall capabilities. (It's pretty much the same tests, just weighted differently.)

    To get a good picture of the hard drive's performance, use HDTach.
