Been tossing between these two for a few weeks now and think I'm pretty set on this frame style for CCW. Walther PPK is out due to price so I am stuck between the Bersa and a Makarov. Maks can be had for well under $200 all day and I can find a Bersa hovering around $200 almost anywhere so price is not really an issue in this case. I have an XD40 sub compact now but it is a little bulky for my taste to conceal.

Your oinions please. Also interested in other options I may have not considered.

I'm in the same boat but throw the Sig P232 into the mix.

I think you're wasting your money. You get to choose between 2 guns that are two big for pocket carry yet aren't chambered with a round that I would feel is powerful enough to carry jhp's in. If you're carrying IWB and want something small and cheap I suggest the keltec 9mm or a kahr if you trust their reputation and have some astroglide handy. If you want a small .380 you get the keltec p3at with all the modern innovations that the bersa wont have like a locked breech ;)

.380 is for pocket guns. All non-pocket guns should be 9mm and larger.

Trust me on this. You do NOT want a pocket 357.

    Get a SW 442 or 642

this man speaks the truth. after you shoot a pocket .357 a few times, you'll load .38spl in it anyway. Might as well just get the .38spl to begin with.

I would pick the bersa over the mak and a 232, 232 has a tricky mag release and t he bersa has a built in lock. :)

You can't go wrong with either. I carried a Mak for about a year when I first got my CHL. I didn't feel undergunned with it at all. It's a very acurete and reliable gun.

    .

My grandpa has an old Colt 357 Magnum from the 70s and he almost always uses 38 spl. I shot a couple rounds of 357 thorugh it and I couldnt agree with him more. Although it was for target practice. I have no idea how Id feel about it if it were for carry

smallest S&W revlovers. There are internal and external hammer options. Personally I carry a M60 (J frame .357) great for concealed, I don't even have to buy new cloths for the most part and the few who know I am packing can't even tell by looking.
