how come there arent many posts about berettas? i've shot the 96 and the 92 and they both seem like really solid guns.

is there anything terribly wrong with them other than people's person opinions? i.e. slide safety

    :dunno:

I see stuff about berettas every so often. Seems like pretty solid guns if a bit heavy from what I've read here.

:werd: they are pretty nice well built guns, but for the price of them there are alot of other guns you can buy I like better.

Not worth the money by any stretch of the imagination.

I had a Beretta 96, I didn't like it at all. I sold it and got a Sig 226 .40. Never looked back since.

My dad has a few of them. Doesnt really use them, even at the range.
Hes got a Police special one (came in a denim box)

And a green/black one. I think he bought it from a marine. Has a US army quick access pistol holster too.

I might get themn after I turn 21. He sure as hell never uses them.

I have a Beretta Cougar .40...I like it for a short barrel gun, it was pretty pricey though.

I think the 92 is one of the best guns ever made! Or at least it works damn well with me :)

I like all the berettas I own. 92fs, 7.5" neos, and a cx4 storm in 9mm. They're good guns, if something happened, I'd replace them with berettas.

I love berettas, my had had one when I was little, it was the first thing I ever shot bigger than a .22lr. great guns. good feel. I plan on getting one some day if I don't buy a 1911.

I've played with both the Beretta 92 and the Taurus 92. Found the Taurus to be just as good, just as accurate and I prefer the Taurus frame mounted ambi safety to the Beretta slide safety (used to 1911 safeties). Also the Taurus being half the Beretta in price is a nice bonus. :)

I have a cougar and a 96 and like them both. The cougar just looks sexy(INOX, walnut grips) and is a very capable pistol. Shame they replaced it with the PX4 in the US. Even more of a shame they didn't make the .45 in INOX as well.

The 96 is my project pistol. Cosmetically I've replaced all the plastic parts with metal and added a skeletonized hammer. I also swapped in competition hammer and recoil springs, added a recoil buffer (buffertech), polished the hammer contact surfaces to smooth it out (nothing radical), and added hogue grips.

Sounds like a lot but only cost about $120 total (only a fraction of that was on functional upgrades like the springs), it looks nice, and it shoots extremely well.

All in all the Beretta's hold their own with other modern pistols. I've never had either one malfunction, and they are both just as accurate as my Sigs. I really don't get all the negative crap people post about them. My only real beef is their recent love for polymer parts on their metal pistols, and the fact that they must ship crates of them to Hollywood for free.

I have a 92, it's my only 9mm. I don't really shoot it that much, but sometimes I'm in the mood and will fire off a few rounds. It's a nice gun, shoots well, but definitely not my favorite ... doesn't hold a candle to my Springfield 1911 ;)
