Which is "better"? I've read an article where dumbbells work out the back better than barbells, since you can pull the weight higher. True? Thoughts? Maybe have variation between the two types of weights?

I don't know which (if either) is better. I prefer to use dumbbells though.

I feel like I get more of a stretch with DB's, but I still do them both

Barbell all the way for me. I do short, heavy sets. 10x3 works well for them IMO.

i read an article somewhere saying that the majority of people doing them are doing them wrong and turning it into more of a bicep workout.

that's why i use dat der machine.

i've been using barbells, but i feel i'm doing it wrong at times. sometimes i feel the lower back when squeezing at the apex, sometimes i don't. i've been rotating between the wide grip, shoulder grip, and underhand grip at each workout session. is this a problem with DBs? i won't be getting the variations of grips. i haven't tried a underhand grip for DBs yet, and not sure if that works.

I think dumbbells are better for most people, you can't cheat as much

What type of dumbell rows are you talking about, a dumbell in each arm, or one arm at a time?

I'd imagine one arm at a time for the leg on bench method bc that would be an interesting thing to see otherwise.
