Does anyone have one of these? I'm considering picking one up next weekend as my first shotgun. I've decided I'm content with a pump for now and really can't justify the extra spend for a semi. I went to Bass Pro and looked at a few. I really liked the 28" barrel version. I felt like it had a pretty good balance and fit well while shouldering. Anyone have any opinions on this gun? What length barrel do you have? Could you find a slug barrel anywhere? I will probably go with the camo finish if I feel the urge to hunt turkey. Oh yeah, the camo Nova went for $450, does this sound about right (only about $35 below MSRP)? Thanks!

    Technically it's a Benelli Super Nova since it's a 12ga.

It's an okay gun. If you do a lot of shooting, you might want to get something else - a lot of plastic on that gun - inside and out. But if you just want it for occasional hunting a couple times a week, it's a fine gun.

And i believe we sell Super Novas new for $399.

Have you checked their website recently? The Nova and Supernova both come in a 12ga option. The SuperNova has a few extra goodies

For a comparable 870, they are the same weight. The 870 is maybe half a pound lighter.

Yeah, I'm really not too worried about weight anyways. I'm 6'1" 200lbs and lift weights routinely. I don't think moving around an 8lb gun vs. a 7lb gun will make a huge difference.

One big plus about the Nova is that it can chamber a 3.5" shell - making it very capable in waterfowl, or turkey hunting.
