Benchmark tools for drives

    Recommendations? On sata drive. Got a server thats lagging like hell a lot I really don't think its the system itself has to be drive problems.

    standard dell optiplex, nothing special about the video or anything used as a server

    why not ghost the existing stuff onto a new drive and see if the drive is the problem or something else?

    Crossed my mind, wanted to run a few benchmark tests to see. What other tools are there?

    I just happen to be having hard drive issues so I figured I'd bench all of my drives to see what you think :rofl:

    btw point of this was this particular system i was testing all it is running on it is exchange and BES but it apparently cannot keep up. So I need to move it to a faster drive setup like raid 5 or raptor sata.. what do you think

    2 x Intel X25-M SSD's in RAID0.

    There is something wrong software wise. Something is writing a lot to your HDD. Those sequential read/writes should both be around 75MB/s+. Not 6MB/s for writes. The HDTach should be pretty much a straight line with a slight downward curve to it.

    You're running BES and exchange on the same server - that's your problem. It's not even supported unless you're running SBS and a handful of users.

    5 users make use of BES. Exchange maybe 14 people use it. Those tests I ran was today. No one is even in the office
