I'm curious as to the benefits of it? My partner was sayin its moreso just to keep your shirt down... do any of you who push bigger weights wear them? Disregard this post if your big bench is 135.

welt belts are used to prevent injury when pushing hard - i use a belt to push my abs out onto it... this keeps you tight and helps prevent injury. I also don't put the belt on til I have 405+ on the bar.

Also, what kind of benching are you doing that your shirt comes up?

I don't use a shirt to bench, my partner is just getting ready for a meet in August so hes getting used to benching in his belt. He didn't put it on until either 365 or 405, I forget.

We got to talkin about it today while doing some chain suspended flat presses about, around the equivalent of a 3board maybe?

oh ok, I didnt realize you talking about a bench shirt. A belt helps keep the shirt in place and you belly-out onto it for ROM and to stay tight.
