how wide do you guys usually grab the bar? please list how tall you are too.....
I'm assuming wide grip ... I'm 5 10 pinkys at the rings.
5 11 pinky on rings on first sets. bring them a bit closer together on my last set.
6'2'' pinky, ring; incline ring finger, ring
5'10", alternate between pinkies & middle finger
Index on rings is where i'm strongest, which I believe is the widest grip you can have in powerlifting
i like to vary it up from week to week, i do a lot of close grip as well as medium once in awhile.
6'6" - wingspan is the same as height
by the way, I'm 6'0 and grab about one finger width inside the rings..
curious to see where people like Maine, Timber, and Pur grab
close grip - thumb distance from the smooth
med grip - pinky on ring
wide grip - middle on ring
comp grip - index on ring
pinky at rings
Depends on the bar...for the bars back at the gym at home I put my pinkeys on the rings. For the bars at school, I have to usually put my middle finger on the rings because they are closer together. I'm 6'.
good stuff to know
Close Grip -thumbs from smooth
Med Grip -pinky on ring
Comp Grip -index on ring
i have it to where my arms are vertical at the bottom position - about pinkies on ring.
thanks everyone. this is pretty useful in gauging how far the average wide, med, and close grips are.
still waiting on Kane and Pur!
his bench > yours
6'3'' middle finger on the ring usually... didnt realize that was considered wide, i should measure my wingspan
same for me
6-1 pinky on the rings
6'3'' and pinky on ring. Maybe i should try middle.
6'4" I tend to vary my grip from each set, usually middle or index finger on the rings.
for incline I think pinkies works best for me.
index on ring
doesnt seem to make a diff for me, i press the same either way its gay. my close grip is a thumbs from smooth and i can do the same amount of weight with that grip as i can having my ring finger on the ring.
