He may not be the best guy on that show, but his demeanor kicks ass.

Possible spoiler alert. Interview contained him talking about how badly Tommy's arm was hurt from the armbar...

I like ben a lot, although it has a lot to do with the fact that I'm 6'3", wanna fight at 170, and have a background in a non-mma style

but also he's a funny dude. I love his attitude.

yeah to some people and at some places... but it's not usually MMA, as in training only and specifically for fighting in a cage. it's the same in theory but there is a distinction.

    uh?

MMA is defined as training for the sport of MMA, unless I'm mistaken? most MMA places don't do any training outside the realm of combat sports right?

not every JKD place out there trains just to sport fight. there are plenty that are more TMA flavored, and others that are more self defense oriented.

I guess my point is that mixing martial arts does not mean you train MMA, or every TKD guy who took some aikido would be 'training mma'

bingo. i love how people act like the UFC is mma. MMA is more or less the same as VT, it just has different rules in different orgs and locations. MMA is not some sanctioned sport with this every encompassing rule book. Its a stupid and basic phrase referring tot he mixing of different martial arts.... ....in essence, exactly what JKD is. Just found in different forms aroudn the world.

ah werd, well I certainly didn't mean to imply that MMA is only fought in a cage.

Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (MotoQ: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Smartphone; 176x220))

i was just using one of the many interchangable terms I use to describe MMA. I only do it so that I don't
to have to say "the sport of MMA" over and over.

I apologize if any creative liberties taken with my posting lead you to believe I am some sort of ignorant MMA fan who believes MMA = UFC.
