I started looking for a nice belt today and was wondering if I was on the right track with my body type. I am a 5'5", 225 pound guy and looking for an understated belt. Nothing that is shiny and will attract attention to my gut, but still classy at the same time. I am thinking about a semi-polished (as in it is not a flat black) leather belt with the buckle being in gunmetal; still shiny but it does not stick out all that much.

I plan to wear this with black dress pants and shoes, a light colored dress shirt, so would this type of belt fit well and look good on me?

Feel free to post pictures and recommendations, but nothing too expensive.

<--- Trying to dress well and still have a good chunk of change left in his wallet.

if it's going to be a simple dress belt and you don't want to spend too much money (when I was looking for a white leather belt, ngas were putting links to $250 belts :eek4:) I'd suggest just going to your local Nordstrom Rack/Ross/Marshalls/TJMaxx

They usually have a very large selection for a decent price. What you described seems common enough that you should be able to find what you're looking for?

    Aged/Vintage looking belts...

Anyone know where to find some nice aged belts? I'm looking for brown cracked leather for khaki's and a dress shirt, no tie...

something like these, but nothing over $50... these are all over $100...

I looked for a good belt for a while matching your description. They have a lot of good ones at buckle for ~$20-30

Does any company make a decent belt?

I can't find a place that specializes in belts...not plain Macy's belts, or belts to go with my suit - I want something nice to accessories t-shirts / jeans / sneakers

    Any ideas?
