Been dating two months. It came to a point where we started wondering if it's gonna grow into something more serious or not. I wasn't feeling it and honestly told her. We never had a single fight, she had a good personality and I liked spending time with her. I just didn't see myself with her in a year/two/three. I could've told her something else, but breaking up with someone after a year or two when you are more attached would be painful. I kinda hoped we wouldn't have this talk so soon, since when we met I told her I wasn't looking for a serious relationship (just got out of 8yr marriage) and she was in a similar situation (just got out of 7yr relationship).

Now I miss the companionship and sex. Do any of you just keep quiet and stay in a relationship even though you see no future together?

being honest sucks, until you find someone else and realize you made the right decision.

and you already told her you weren't looking for something serious, so what does she expect?

she said she wasn't going into it looking for something serious, but she liked me so much that it changed her mind. Sooo if i am not serious, she doesn't want to waste her time. That's how it all ended.

I wouldn't be in a relationship unless there was a future for us. The whole point of being in a relationship for me is to find someone 'for life'. If after a few weeks or months I couldn't see me being with that person, there is no way I would waste my time on them. I am not into dating for the sake of dating. I have only dated two men longer than a few months, both of which I had a child with. I have had casual sex with one man but we both knew it was casual sex from the get go.

Oh jeez, ive been in this type of relationship before, sucks bro.

What it comes down to is this...

Like you mentioned, the longer you stay, the more personal the feelings get and the more mixed up the whole thing becomes. The longer you stay the harder its going to be on BOTH of you when the time comes to 'end' it.

I generally try to end these relationships asap because of the fact im a sucker when it comes to breaking up.

:werd: Seems to me like being honest saved everyone a lot of heartache. I fail to see where the honesty is the problem here.

you should be proud of yourself for doing the right thing.

ive done the same things in similar situations. no need to drag it on and hurt her further.

    Being honest does suck!

I just started chatting with a chick online, and I told her that I was turned off a little by her profile after reading it a second time. I also told her that there was a "little turn off" by her asking for a "man with intellegence", and that she misspelled "intelligence", and she went fucking ballistic.

being honest does suck, but it's so often very necessary. But if shit just isn't going to work out, why prolong it?

@polishillusion: I'd do the same thing. If a bitch doesn't know how to spell and use proper grammar, she isn't worth your time. I see stuff like that all the time. Honestly, I think it's more fun to tease them about it and just have fun that way. See how far you can set them off.

The best was how she was saying I was being "rude", and I just kept telling her that I was actually being as honest as humanly possible, and she just spiraled around and around. I'll post her profile in my own thread and see what comes up.

Honesty is something that sucks ass in our current society really. I'm yet to benefit from it.
